The 2024 IIJL World Junior Lacrosse Championship will take place from August 4-9, 2024. The 2024 championship will see six (6) countries embark on City to complete for gold; Australia, Canada, Haudenosaunee, Poland, Scotland, and the United States. Saskatoon is the capital and largest city of the province of Saskatchewan in Canada. It straddles a bend in the South Saskatchewan River in the central region of the province. It is located along the Trans-Canada Yellowhead Highway, and has served as the cultural and economic hub of central Saskatchewan since its founding in 1882.
The name Saskatoon (in Cree: sâskwatôn ᓵᐢᑿᑑᐣ, "Saskatoon" or the locatives: misâskwatôminihk ᒥᓵᐢᑿᑑᒥᓂᕽ, lit: "at the saskatoon berry", misâskwatôminiskâhk ᒥᓵᐢᑿᑑᒥᓂᐢᑳᕽ, "at the place of many saskatoon berries", mînisihk ᒦᓂᓯᕽ "at the berry") comes from the Cree inanimate noun misâskwatômina ᒥᓵᐢᑿᑑᒥᓇ "saskatoon berries", which refers to the sweet, violet-coloured berry that grows in the area.

SaskTel Centre
Opened in 1988, with expansion renovations to the building and seating in 1990 and 2009, SaskTel Centre has a capacity of 15,195 and is the home to the Saskatchewan Rush of the National Lacrosse League (NLL), Saskatoon Blades of the Western Hockey League (WHL), and Saskatchewan Rattlers of the Canadian Elite Basketball League (CEBL).
